What Made Her Do It
By Lisa “Lady” Berrien

FACTS:

  • In 1942, the American Psychiatric Association declared that Homosexuality
    is a disease.

  • In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association removed Homosexuality from
its list of diseases. The next year, 37% of its membership voted to reclassify homosexuality as a disease; they were not successful

  • As many as 7.2 million Americans under age 20 are lesbian or gay

A topic that has been on the chopping block for ages and the question that most heterosexual men ask is “What made HER do it?” While one can only explore so far to find out the answer some of the typical responses are, “women know what other women like”, “we know how to treat each other better than a man does”, and my favorite: “TOO MANY FAILED RELATIONSHIPS WITH MEN”. Do you see where this is going?

While some women justify their decision to “Do It” with the notion that it’s the male species fault others say that something in them draws them to the femininity…you know that soft touch or maybe that gentle nature that some women use to handle issues; carefully thought out without the overall nonchalant attitude women feel men carry towards certain emotional needs.

With the growing epidemic of gay/lesbian relationships the ones becoming involved are becoming younger and younger at a very rapid rate, and of the growing epidemic Washington DC is one of the seven most heavily populated gay/lesbian locations, and just joined the other states and cities that approve same sex union as of December 15th this year. The bill was won over by votes of 11-2, clearly a landslide for the right to choose your own destiny. However, the bill will not go into complete effect until this spring providing it passes its 30 day legislative review period. So does this mean among the other things that need to be checked off of a list when moving to a neighborhood is the gay/lesbian population? Of course if there are parents or families that are concerned about what their young children are exposed to until they are old enough to understand the decisions that people make in life.

Back to the topic at hand…WHAT MADE HER DO IT? While talking with one of my friends who is of lesbian orientation I found that one of the reasons women “turn the other cheek” is that when women talk they provide a level of understanding from the same point of view that they may not normally receive from men, and that comfort for them is unmatched. It seems that there are more emotional aspects of this topic than there are physical, because it’s very clear that a woman cannot provide what a man does without some extra accessories! So with that being said it has almost nothing to do with the pure physical anatomy but more of what the emotional stimulation does to physically draw these two beings together, in turn causing them to be openly affectionate.

Of course we all know what the Bible says, and nothing is to be added or taken away the Word is the Word. However because we are human and do have the ability to make choices, and respond to emotion, that seems to be the reason WHY WOMEN DO IT…emotional creatures they are; with complexities they feel only another woman can relate to the soft touch just may be an added bonus!
