ecord numbers of same-sex couples are getting hitched. These relationships, however, are not legally recognized in most states across the country and the majority of mainline Christians aren’t very tolerant of these relationships within their congregations. Yet, there is little doubt that domestic partnerships is challenging and pushing the buttons of society and the church at large. As we approach our one-year anniversary, the staff at Chap’s Expressions will close with a two part series discussing the taboo subject of Domestic Partnerships, Civil, and Religious Unions. We greatly admire theologians who openly grabble with the Scripture and the ethical challenges facing domestic partnership for Christians today.
