nformation
is power and the lack of information renders you
powerless. Powerlessness kills and women without the power of information are
harmed. In the early 90’s, the metaphor describing power over women was the
corporate “glass ceiling.” Breaking the “glass ceiling” wasn’t easily done.
Women quickly learned not to trust one another when competing for jobs. They
stopped the flow of information to one another and their major concern became,
“who’ll be the first woman…” We behaved like crabs in a basket fighting to see
who would get out first. We missed the mark! Today we have access to a myriad of
information and yet we don’t take advantage of the information that is right at
our fingertips—information that can heal us and keep us from harm.
Information
is an empowering tool when correctly applied for the common good of others.
Chap’s Expressions wants to use its power by breaking down the assumptions,
barriers, and stereotypes that limit African-American women from receiving help
in their fight against breast cancer. Sister Informing Sisters was
developed for your survival. Please use the information provided to break the
power that breast cancer has over African-American women. Breast cancer has
become our “glass ceiling.” Thousands of African-American women are dying of
breast cancer every year. Break the ceiling and empower yourselves with
increased knowledge and improved health care. Professional coaches are lined up
and waiting for you!
Peace and blessings,
