Chap's Expressions - A Woman's Point of View!

A Message for you

May 2010

Mulling over our family’s normal venue for Mother’s Day, this year I opted for change. No flowers, candy, dinners at restaurants on that day, or store bought cards. Creativity is the name of the game.

I am writing letters to my mother, daughter-in-law, and close bosom buddies. As for gifts, they will receive hats and gloves for honoring Dr. Dorothy Height’s legacy at church. Oh, I can see all the pretty colors of the rainbow.

For my mother a tangerine hat with a veil that covers the top half of her face. For my sister, who is a mother to all her students, a deep yellow. I am so excited. My daughter-in-law’s hat will be a violet straw with a wide brim. As for me, I’ll be pretty in pink.

Instead of us going out, a catered dinner at home using our best china.

Who says the celebration has to end that Sunday. Why not celebrate the entire month of May? Honor each other by hosting a tea in the garden. How about a brisk morning walk, then brunch?

This year ladies, Chap’s Expressions is suggesting that you breakout the creativity when celebrating mothers. Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day,

Chap
