Iheard it said that healthcare professionals, whether chaplain, doctor, nurse, social-worker, are students and the patient is the living human document. The last week of residency I felt a keen sense of responsibility to be present at a memorial service conducted by the Staff Chaplain of the pediatrics’ department. The service was for two children, who weren’t my patients. My attending the service taught me the concept that patients are our living document.
Personal MomentLast year, for the first time, I attended the Women's Heart Health Fair at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. It was amazing! They had screenings, free food and beverage samples, presentations and a lot more. I walked out with books and other information that enabled me to do better with my health. Ladies, we are constantly giving of ourselves, depleting what we have on the inside. |
Communities are full of residents who need healthcare, but don’t get it because they are uninsured, under-insured or just don’t know where to go. They don’t seek out local health departments or clinics because of concerns about not meeting income requirements or other restrictions. what's the pointWe have probably all heard the expression that “life is what happens when you are making other plans” – well as someone who works in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), I witness this first hand when parents who expected to have a healthy term infant, find themselves face to face with a tiny baby perhaps weighing just over a pound and born as much as four months early. In a situation like this as in any number of other health related life crises, our medical coverage or lack thereof can become a matter of paramount importance. |
While some women justify their decision to “Do It” with the notion that it’s the male species fault others say that something in them draws them to the femininity…you know that soft touch or maybe that gentle nature that some women use to handle issues; carefully thought out without the overall nonchalant attitude women feel men carry towards certain emotional needs. spread the word!Click here to send this page to a friend. |
